Mobile libraries

Mobile libraries bring library services to areas without a library of their own. The mobile libraries visit schools and day care centers, in addition to their regular route. Choose your city to check out timetables, contact information, news and events.

Mobile Library Välkky

A versatile and adaptable event car for a variety of needs, to the delight of the local residents.

On weekdays, Välkky goes around schools and kindergartens, which are far from physical libraries. The program includes traditional borrowing and returning books, but also book recommendations, reading dog visits and workshops.

In the evenings and weekends, Välkky can be found at various events. We try to reach the citizens of the municipality, especially in areas that otherwise have no cultural offerings or opportunities for participation. Välkky often participates, for example, in village parties and carnivals of residents' associations and clubs, school seasonal parties and Espoo events for events and festivals.

Take a look at the website and Instagram, and you'll know where Välkky is going. You can also ask Välkky to join your own event.

All our stops are on Google Maps.

Unfortunately, library cars are not accessible. There is no elevator or ramp for the disabled, so it is not possible to get in with, for example, a wheelchair, rollator or stroller. Not all of our stops are accessible either. If necessary, the clerk can select, borrow and bring out the materials requested by the customer.
